I’m known as Wonder Woman of Words, The Brand Puzzler, San Diego’s Most Wanted Concept Artist…
But you can call me Nique.
I’m a California-grown writer. But for the past decade, I’ve been ping-ponging between cities, countries and creative roles.
My love of language started young. Even when starting my BA at UC Santa Barbara, I knew that English was my soul major. During that time, I learned good things about the land of lederhosen (Germany) and ended up spending four transformative years there. I taught English as a foreign language, kicked off my freelance editing business and even snagged an MA in English Language & Linguistics.
In early 2016 I entered the magical world of marketing, where I began wordsmithing for various creative agencies in Manhattan (freelance and onsite). Eventually, I made a home in the Branding + Creative pod of ICR, a communications agency dubbed #5 in PR and #2 in IR (cue imposter syndrome).
Even after moving back to the West Coast (best coast) in 2020, I kept my spot in the ICR family (pandemic silver lining?). And I was determined to keep killing it, no matter how many miles or hours separated us. Apparently, it worked. Because just three months later they promoted me from “senior copywriter” to one of those ridiculously long, chest-puffing titles – VP, Associate Creative Director, Lead Copywriter and Brand Strategist.
Since transfiguring into a proud robin, I’ve been on the hunt for a position at agencies or companies near (onsite/hybrid situation is a plus) and far (remote works, too).
Is this not what a robin looks like?
